Dripping Springs falls under the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, where, per KUT News, a local well owner described conditions in March 2026 this way: "the water level used to come all the way back up to about 500 feet when we had heavy rains. But now we're seeing it staying very low at around 660 to 690." The district reported that spring that every one of its monitored wells had dropped below its historic level, with less than a 1 percent chance of enough rain to end the drought within six months.
